How many bands can you name that have had a career for twenty six years, consistently staying along the same lines of formula, and be successful with winning over old and new school fans? I can name only one and that is Slayer.
Sure bands like Metallica have had illustrious careers (My mom called to tell me they were on The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Concert how funny!) but they have lost so many old school fans with new albums just not making the grade as their old stuff.
Before hearing the new record I heard a lot of mixed reviews by people such as "the record sounds rushed," or that "it's generic and the record has no climax."
I don't care what anyone says because World Painted Blood is excellent. It's the Slayer all of us fans have come to enjoy through these past million years. Unlike all these scraming cry baby metal acts today, Slayer still rolls over them like an avalanche with more anger and power than any ten of those bands combined could ever dream of writing.
It's extremely aggressive and the production is a bit rawer than the past few records. Basically it sounds like they combined South of Heaven and God Hates us All.
Notable tracks: Snuff, Human Strain, Psychopathy Red, and Playing With Dolls which is the records Spill The Blood! You can also purchase a deluxe version that comes with a DVD.
Thank you Slayer - I will be rocking this album through Christmas non stop!
