This months Gore Girl The Midnite Movie Mamacita has been a big part of I Can Smell Your Brains .Com from the very beginning. Though she hasn’t written any material for the site, we have had a working relationship with her since day one. The Midnite Movie Mamacita is sort of a B film icon in the valley with her Grindhouse Redux Film Nights and for her love of the strange and obscure movies of the sixties and seventies. Coming from New Zealand and being a girl, she is a rare breed whose knowledge of exploitation and blaxploitation films can never be matched.
The MMM was also a major help in getting our feet in the door in regards to showing films in Arizona. We worked side by side along with her and the fellas from Ban 1 Films with Reels of Fury; a monthly schedule of B movies, old school classics, and forgotten gems all on 35MM. Not to mention we were partners in showing Dawn of The Dead and bringing Ken Foree out for a Q&A during last years International Horror and Sci-Fi Festival in Tempe AZ. Most recently, The MMM has become a co-host along with Brandon and I for our newest venture The I Can Smell Your Brains Radio Show on Compound Radio every Friday night at 10PM. She adds a great deal of humor to the show as well as some incredibly strange music into the mix.
Outside of movies and monsters, The MMM is the captain of the two time undefeated team The Brutal Beauties for another roller derby league in town called The Derby Dames. She also manages Chandler Cinemas where we show all of our movies month after month. So, to say she is a busy lady is an understatement!
Her partner in crime in the shoot is her good friend McSurley. She became obsessed with blood and guts from seeing the original Nightmare on Elm Street at the age of two! How insane is that! “Being good friends with Mamacita for the past couple of years and being her faithful roadie for some time, she identified my obsession and appropriately nicknamed me McSurley the Slasher Girly at one of her Grindhouse Redux shows!”

ICSYB - Instead of the typical horror style questions we normally ask, since you dig some crazy shit we decided to alter the quiz. For starters name your top five exploitation films?
MMM - Well I have to start with my favorite Russ Meyer breastploitation classic, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. Nothing beats, buxom broads driving around old foreign cars in the California desert. Tura Satana is iconic as Varla and still inspires legions of fans today. Campy and groovy with the right amount of sex and violence, it's perfection!
Dolemite! Who can forget the tubby but ohhh so fly Rudy Ray Moore as the pimp mack daddy with the mostest! Man move over and let me pass!
Female Convict Scorpion Jailhouse 41. Meiko Kaji is Matsu, the mad Japanese honey that will stab you in the eye, so watch out warden! A fabulous cinematic piece of Japanese exploitation with stunning cinematography and an awesome score!
What have you done to Solange? Not really exploitation, but it has my boy Fabio Testi, so I had to throw it in. Italian school girls are getting knocked off systematically by a killer who has a penchant for plunging a knife into their vajayjay. Beautiful score, eye candy and all around Italian goodness.
For Your Height Only. "You're such a little guy though, very petite, like a potato" is really what every midget super hero wants to hear, but does he really care, he's Weng Weng! The Filipino super short super hero who gets the chicks and saves the day. He can ride a pocket bike across a ravine, he's the man!
ICSYB - What was the first movie that really attracted you to your love of B-movies?
MMM - It was early dashes of Sid and Marty Kroffts "Pufnstuf" (totally trippy) and late night sleepover madness with Don Johnson in "A Boy and His Dog". Who can turn the telly off when Don is getting his man juice harvested by white faced 1950s farm town underground dwellers?
ICSYB - Since your from New Zealand, what is your favorite Peter Jackson movie?
MMM - Actually my fav is "Heavenly Creatures". Which might seem a bit out of character, but the murder scene is still one of the most haunting and terrifying scenes of matricide I've ever seen! Death by brick in a stocking, BRUTAL!
ICSYB - Fred the Hammer Williamson or MC Hammer?
MMM - Boss Ni**er!
ICSYB - If you said MC Hammer, I was about to kick you in the vajayjay! What are the some of the coolest B-movies that you've shown throughout the years?
MMM - Shit man, too many! I've been blessed...I'm partial to my Kung Fu babies, "Seven Blows of the Dragon" (oohhh Young Dragon) and "Heroes Two" (missing a reel). Who can forget "Vampyres" and the shlock fest "Wizard of Gore". Ted Mikels with "Doll Squad" (now that was a dream come true!) and Kitten Natividad with "Beneath the Valley of the Ultravixens".
ICSYB - Which old school actor or actress would you like to see come back from the dead to do another movie?
MMM - Probably Sheng Fu, a Shaw Brothers staple that tragically died in a car accident or Bruce Lee or James Dean...can I have multiple resurrections?
ICSYB - Sure, why not. Last question, Why do you smell like shit?
MMM - The same reason your balls smell like sausage!
