Video Interview w/ Marilyn Burns

Sally Hardesty talks instead of shrieking!

Danny Northside - Thursday, March 11, 2010

The name Marilyn Burns may not be the most familiar, but her screams were! Back in 1974 she starred in a low budget horror film that changed the face of fear on he screen forever: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Burns starred as Sally Hardesty and in her first role, she killed it! Brandon and I had the opportunity to see Marilyn Burns do a Q&A after watching an original print of Tobe Hooper's gritty classic along with a packed theatre of horror fans at this past years International Horror and Sci-Fi Festival. She was delightful and really nice. Brandon and Andrea went to dinner with her before the film and Brandon did a quick interview with her that evening as well.

Burns went on to work with Hooper on another cool film Eaten Alive, and though her acting career was never huge, she also had roles in other gory classics such as the television version of Helter Skelter, Kiss Daddy Goodbye, and Future-Kill. As for holding the title of a scream queen,

Marilyn Burns is an old school veteran. And for that matter, a sweetheart.

Enjoy the interview!
