Man, what the hell is in the water in Sweden?? Sweden has created some of my favorite bands of all time (Entombed, Unleashed, Carnage, Nasum etc. etc.) and it just doesn't quit. Over the last 7 or 8 years, Rotten Sound has become without a doubt one of the most brutal bands in existence.

With Nasum singer Mieszko's passing in the Tsunami's several years back, Rotten Sound has definitely taken over as the grind kings of Sweden. Cycles has finally become available in the US through Spinefarm Universal and you should snatch it up right away.

Just unbelievable pummeling grindcore with little doses of European hardcore and punk mixed in. I feared the worst when their outrageously fast drummer, Kai Hahto, left to pursue his band Wintersun full time and rotten Sound released the decent (instead of fabulous) EP consume To Contaminate in 2007, but new drummer Sami Latva does not disappoint. I caught them with Carcass in LA in September and they just destroyed every band on the bill that wasn't named Carcass.
